The Theatre Antonin
Artaud was founded in 1969 in Lugano, in the Italian part
of Switzerland, by Michel and Michèle Poletti. It has created
until now more than 50 shows, most of them for adults.
The Theatre Antonin Artaud is a company which since its foundation
has been dedicating itself to the search of a theatre of images
and fantasy, by means of marionettes and puppets, shadows and masks,
enhanced by avant-garde techniques.
Michel and Michèle Poletti have built for these shows and
various television productions over 3000 puppets. The Theatre Antonin
Artaud has significantly participated to the renewal of the art
of puppetry.
The Theatre Antonin Artaud performed over 5000 times, in 15 countries
and came back on stage in 1995, one year after Michèle Poletti's
passing.
